Customer Review: I can't pan this pan

The Berndes Signocast products are excellent. They are strong and sturdy, but not as heavy as Le Creuset, they are very very easy to clean--a swipe or two in the dishwater and they are clean (use steel wool pads occasionally on their bottom aluminum cooking surface), their bottoms are flat unlike some stuff that warps leaving you wondering what is touching the electric element, and stuff in them cooks amazingly well. I'm gradually replacing everything else I've bought with these. These are a bit expensive, but they hold up, and good tools are important to the home chef and are well worth the money just as I feel good hand tools are well worth the money to someone wanting to do household repairs, etc. I have owned some pots and some skillets that needed lots of effort to scrub and clean--these Berndes items are truly soak-for-10-seconds and wipe clean, no matter how mean you've been to them. Because of their heft, it does take a bit longer for these to heat through, but maybe on the order of 30 seconds more--not a big deal, but still something to remember. No matter if you're doing soup, gumbo, bacon, pancakes, veggies, steaks, ham slices, potato pancakes, crab cakes, Chinese, goulash, etc., the cleanup afterwards is amazingly easy. Did you hear that, not only do they cook well but they clean well.
