Customer Review: THE VERY BEST FOR NON STICK COOKING

10-15 YRS AGO I PURCHASED A FRY PAN AT A DISCOUNT (NEVER THE SAME PLACE TWICE) STORE FOR $8. I DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BERNDES PANS. I USED THE 8" PAN OVER THE YEARS, ESPECIALLY TO MAKE FRIED EGGS, AS THIS "$8" PAN INEXPLICABLY TO ME,FRIED EGGS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER OF MY PANS. I HAVE AND HAVE HAD SOME VERY GOOD COOKWARE-ALL CLAD, ANOLON TITANIUM, CYBERNOX. NONE OF MY OTHER COOKWARE COULD MATCH THE NON-STICK SURFACE OF MY "$8" FRY PAN.
~8 MOS. AGO I WAS DISTRACTED FROM MY KITCHEN BY MY 90 YR OLD MOTHER NEEDING SOMETHING. WHEN I REMEMBERED I HAD LEFT THE PAN ON THE COOKTOP AT ~3-4 LEVEL I RAN INTO THE KITCHEN, FINDING MY "$8" PAN WHICH HAD BEEN BLUE ON THE SIDES, BLACK, ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE PAN, TOTALLY RUINED. MY THOUGHT WAS WELL, UNFORTUNATE, BUT HEY, IT WAS ONLY "$8". I KNEW THE BRAND WAS "B-SOMETHING, BRE, BRN?". I WAS ABLE TO DISCERN THE EXACT NAME ON THE BLACKENED BOTTOM OF THE PAN SO I COULD LOOK ON THE INTERNET TO FIND "ANOTHER ONE FOR $8".
MY REACTION AFTER SEEING THE PRICES WAS "NO WONDER I LIKED THE PAN ABOVE ALL OTHERS FOR NONSTICK COOKING", THIS MAKES SENSE NOW. PRIOR TO PURCHASE I RESEARCHED THE VARIOUS BERNDES LINES AND INDIVIDUAL/SET PRICES. AMAZON BY FAR HAD THE BEST PRICES ON ANY BERNDES. THE PRICE I PAID FOR THE SIGNOCAST SET (WHICH I HAD DETERMINED WAS THE LINE OF MY $8 PAN), WAS A VERY MINIMAL ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OVER WHAT I WOULD HAVE PAID FOR JUST A SINGLE FRY PAN.
